The works of the Kshs. 327 billion SGR project which commenced in June 2014 is expected to be completed by March and not as earlier projected date of May 2017 with 80% percent having already been done.
Laying of bricks have so far covered a distance of 280 kilometres from Voi to Sultan Hamud. Twenty three (23) passing stations, eight (8) intermediary stations and two major stations in Mombasa and Nairobi with ground breaking of the Inland Container Depot in Nairobi expected to take place in September 2017.
